Walk With Us! The 2026 Jenks Walk-a-Thon Is Here

Last year, the Jenks community showed up in a BIG way for our first Walk-a-Thon — raising an incredible $15,000 for A.S. Jenks!
And those dollars did so much more than fund one event.
Because of the support of our families, friends, and neighbors, the HSA was able to help fund 11 after-school clubs, offset transportation costs for field trips, purchase a new color printer for the school, support the Guest Reader Assembly, provide classroom and teacher supplies, celebrate our students and staff, and more.
In fact, without HSA funding, our students would not have had after-school clubs last year.
That's what the Walk-a-Thon is really about.
It gives our HSA the ability to say YES when our school needs something — and when there is something we, as a community, want to provide to make the Jenks experience even richer for our students.
This Year, We're Going Even Bigger
Our goal for the 2026 Walk-a-Thon is to raise $20,000, and we're excited to build on everything our community made possible last year.
Walk-a-Thon funds become part of the HSA's general budget and help us support needs and opportunities throughout the school year, including:
After-school clubs and student enrichment
Field trips and transportation costs
Assemblies and special school experiences
Classroom and teacher materials
A library initiative to bring more books into Jenks classrooms
A new teacher mini-grant program for special projects
School celebrations and community events
And the unexpected needs and opportunities that come up throughout the year
Our goal isn't simply to raise money. It's to give our school community the resources to create experiences and opportunities that enrich our students' time at Jenks.
So... What's the Walk-a-Thon?
On Friday, September 25, every Jenks class will head outside for its assigned walking time and walk laps around the perimeter of the school.
Each class will have its own scheduled time between 9 AM and 12 PM. We'll share the class schedule with families once it is finalized.
And families — we want you there!
Come out to cheer on our students, join the Cheer Squad, volunteer, or simply stop by to see the fun.

How Fundraising Works
Fundraising is officially OPEN!
Each classroom has its own Zeffy fundraising page, making it easy for families to share their child's class page with grandparents, relatives, friends, neighbors, and anyone else who would like to support Jenks.
There is also a school-wide fundraising page for anyone who would prefer to make a general donation to A.S. Jenks.
Donations are flat donations — not pledges per lap — and there is no minimum donation. Every contribution, at every level, helps us move toward our $20,000 school-wide goal.
Fundraising will remain open through September 30.
But Wait... There ARE Laps!
While donations aren't based on laps, our students still have a little friendly competition ahead of them!
Classes will compete based on their average number of laps walked, with Walk-a-Thon trophies awarded to our winning classes.
And there's an important distinction here:
Our Walk-a-Thon competition is about participation and movement — not how much money a classroom raises.
Students get to focus on walking, cheering on their classmates, and having fun. Meanwhile, our entire community works together toward one shared $20,000 fundraising goal.
We Need Volunteers + A Cheer Squad!
The Walk-a-Thon takes a lot of helping hands — and it's also one of the most fun HSA events to volunteer for!
We'll need parent and caregiver volunteers to help with:
Setup and cleanup
Tracking student laps
Water stations
Cheering on our walkers
Helping everything run smoothly throughout the morning
Can't volunteer for the whole event? Come cheer! We'd love to have families lining the route and bringing some serious Jenks energy for our students.

Let's See What We Can Make Possible This Year
Last year, this community raised $15,000.
Those dollars became clubs. Field trips. Classroom resources. Assemblies. Celebrations. Support for our teachers. Experiences for our kids.
This year, we're aiming for $20,000 — not simply because we want to raise more, but because we want to do more.
More opportunities. More enrichment. More resources. More ways to support our teachers and students.
Every lap our students walk and every dollar our community contributes moves us toward that goal.
Let's walk, Jenks!
